SCROLL DOWN

UltraLinq Healthcare Solutions

Head of Visual and User Design

Healthcare is undergoing an explosion of interest in the UX field. Ultralinq offered the opportunity to help revolutionize the industry for doctors, clinicians, and patients.

UltraLinq is a pioneer in cloud-based workflow and image management of medical images. It is also a developer of software for compact and portable Ultrasound and diagnostic sensors. I took control of the small design teams located in Seattle, Washington, and Durham, North Carolina.

The challenges revolved around growing the team and revolutionize the interface designs and experiences for new users and markets while not alienating pre-existing users in the highly regulated healthcare field. The assembled group consolidated assets and workflow into a unified process with shared libraries with proper documentation, testing and version control. This method worked across device development (ultrasound device and wireless patient monitoring) and web applications.

DIRECTOR OF USER EXPERIENCE

USER EXPERIENCE IS A DESIGN PROCESS TO BUILD USABLE, DELIGHTFUL, AND DESIRABLE BRAND EXPRESSIONS.

The Ogilvy User Experience group was remarkably different from most other digital agencies due to scale and complexity of our client needs. We did this by taking on a disciplined but creative approach while maintaining solid, cutting-edge skills across project categories.

The group maintained a full spectrum of specialties ranging from Information Architects and Interaction Designers; Content Strategists and Content Planners to scale up on projects. Additionally, Business Analysts sit in our UX groups as well as User Research analysts. At the same time, we’ve built a library of tools and methodologies across project types. This matrix approach helps us scale to practice flavors of Agile, Lean UX or Iterative design methods.

UX/INFORMATION ARCHITECT

AS PART OF AN INTERNAL CREATIVE DEPARTMENT FOR WEIGHTWATCHERS I HELP BUILD A HIGHLY EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE TEAM THAT HELPS DEFINE AND DEVELOP ALL OF THE SUBSCRIPTION TOOLS FOR THE DIGITAL COMPONENT OF THE PROGRAM.

I am very proud of the work I accomplished within this in-house Creative team. Communication and collaboration were very active and productive. The company was still transitioning from a traditional meetings-focused business model to the online/digital space. We were successful and helped bring in new subscribers to the digital platform and helped raise the company to a Fortune 100 company in the process. I contributed to the development of the desktop and mobile POINTS Tracker tool and e-commerce website for members.

INFORMATION ARCHITECT

ULTRA16 is a small boutique SoHo agency that handles specialty brands. I worked on the Estee Lauder brands as well as work for the New York Times and SOny.

This small agency is where I cut my teeth and refined my UX skill set for client facing presentation and work. There was plenty of work on all aspects of a project that a small team (project manager, designer, information architect, copywriter and content strategist) followed through from beginning to end. Though much of this work is more than ten-years-old, it is still relevant and fresh.
